A Winter Tablescape

It’s about time to get back to winter.. I keep reminding myself that it’s still January but with the crazy temperature swings over here in NYC who knows these days (tomorrow is supposed to hit almost 60?!?) So, the winter wedding tablescape? Well aside from all being pretty, there really isn’t one table setting style these days. Weddings have surpassed themselves in ever stylistic sense, so while there may be more of a “traditional winter table setting” your winter tablescape can still be everything pretty without being traditional. Today I picked a few that scream winter to me… Lots of silvers, greenery, sparkles and lace and even some chevron mixed into some traditional, others modern and lots of rustic ideas.

Bridal Shower Etiquette: The Table Setting

The bridal shower is back on One to Wed, and today we wanted to provide some dainty and ladylike ideas for the bridesmaids planning the shower… for the table setting! So where to begin here? Well bridal showers come in all shapes and sizes (outdoor, indoor, big or small) but one thing that seems to be somewhat universal is the table! Everyone has to eat something right? Well, maybe not actually, but for today, we’ll pretend all the ladies are sitting down for a bite to eat!

I love the idea of a very “girly” table setting, because when after all, will you be sitting with only ladies again! Vases with flowers (aka baby centerpieces), colorful or elegant table runners, and pewter inspire me. I’m of the belief that any combination of these pretty things will produce a magical result, so use bits and pieces of our inspiration and some creativity of your own and it will be the perfect shower for your bride-to-be!

To the Beach (Table Setting Ideas)

Well, although you may not want to admit it, the summer season at the beach is winding down. Ladies, there are only three more official beach weekends left (and maybe a few unofficially after that) so get your thrills in now because soon, it’s time to start planning for your summer 2013 wedding…. at the beach obviously!

So for some current inspiration and future planning, today, we’re heading to the water again for more beach wedding inspiration (although this time I couldn’t help but throw in some pier table inspiration as well). Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself now; the point of today is all about the beach table setting! We haven’t really done a full beach table setting post yet, so here it is. There won’t be another until next summer, so hopefully with these incredibly beautiful and inspiring beach wedding tables, you get a few ideas to plan your own beach wedding for when next summer rolls around.

The Wedding Palette – Neutral Elegance

Today it’s a color palette treat with some of my very favorite pairings of the neutrals! Now for some, neutral colors (today we’re going with the blue-greys, pinks and creams) don’t really do it. I know, they aren’t the most exciting, they’re not the brights, the prints or the patterns but there is such an understated elegance when it comes to picking the neutrals and they have this incredible calming sensation – even on your big day!

So there are many reasons to pick a neutral palette but one of my favorite reasons is that glam factor. And my favorite neutral? Grey, Grey, Grey! Today, a blue-grey proves it can be the belle of the ball without being like the fun and flirty bold magenta or yellow chevron because grey just is that fabulous! Grey is such a statement because it is so understated and even when pairing it with other neutrals you can still add so much decor and accessorize all you want because it can never be too overwhelming. Which leads me to my next favorite thing about this type of palette. Because the colors are so calming, you can add the frills and extras to create the magic that you are looking for! So all in all, whatever the season and the venue, you can make a neutral color palette blend seamlessly into your day by picking the right neutrals and accessorizing galore!

Southern Wedding Charm

The south… wedding sigh. If you aren’t a southern belle yourself (don’t worry, neither am I), or even if you’ve never been to visit the charming southern United States (Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana) then you may not fully appreciate what comes with a southern wedding. But…I assure you that once you visit you will fall in love! From the beautiful old, and stately homes (and reception locations) like the Hay House (below) in Macon, Georgia, to the colors that evoke that southern feel (I’m thinking warm grey and peach tones for everything from the bridesmaids dresses to the table setting and the color palette in general), to that perfect southern reception complete with rich interiors, china place settings and elaborate decor, today we are going all out for some classic “southern charm” wedding ideas and inspiration! Surely to bring out the southern belle in all of us…
